Netflix Plans to Launch a Video Game Studio in Finland

Netflix is expanding into the video game industry and has announced its own studio. Currently, the streaming service is providing its customers with 25 mobile games within the Netflix app. It has also acquired smaller game studios such as Night School Studio, Next Games, and Boss Fight Entertainment. It has also hired a former Zynga executive to head the studio, Marko Lastikka. Lastikka has worked on teams that have created hit games like Farmville 3 and SimCity BuildIt.

Marko Lastikka is a 19-year veteran of the mobile games industry

Netflix is planning to launch its own video game studio in Finland to create video games for subscribers. The company has been in the gaming industry for several years, and has made investments in numerous studios. Most recently, the streaming video service purchased Finland-based Next Games for $72 million. Since then, it has acquired three other game studios. As of now, the company has 31 mobile games available for subscribers and plans to have 50 by year’s end. Its games include “Stranger Things” and “Queen’s Gambit Chess.”

The studio will be led by Marko Lastikka, who worked for Electronic Arts and Zynga. He will oversee the new studio, which is set to be based in Helsinki.

The studio is based in Helsinski, Finland

As part of its efforts to attract more subscribers, Netflix is opening its own video game studio in Helsinki, Finland. The studio will be led by Marko Lastikka, who is a former executive producer and general manager at Electronic Arts. He was also co-founder of the video game developer Zynga. Netflix plans to open its Helsinki studio in September 2021.

Currently, Netflix is already working with Ubisoft to develop a mobile version of the Assassin’s Creed game franchise. The company is also in talks with the developer to create a live-action Assassin’s Creed television series.

It will add 50 games to its platform by the end of the year

After suffering a big subscriber loss in recent years, Netflix is now taking a serious approach to tapping into the growing video game market. The company began offering a few mobile games to subscribers last November and now plans to add another 30 games to its platform by the end of the year.

Currently, Netflix offers 17 games on its platform. The company plans to add more over the next few years. One game is based on the hit Netflix series, “Queen’s Gambit Chess.” Despite its cautious approach, Netflix has already signed up several developers and is expected to add 50 games by the end of the year.

Netflix is a major distributor of animated family and kid shows

The streaming giant has recently branched out into animated family and kid shows, with the addition of several new titles. Netflix has also expanded its Asian offerings, releasing original Thai animated series Sea of Love and Indian kids’ show Mighty Little Bheem: I Love Taj Mahal in the past quarter. It also has signed on to re-make the 2001 Spy Kids franchise, and it has a slate of new family-friendly content coming in the near future.

Although Netflix is a major distributor of animated family shows, its strategy may not be the best one for the company. It should focus on quality rather than quantity. It should target the under-served market instead of attempting to compete with Disney.
